Ryan Carrier CFA – Chief Investment Officer
Responsible for developing investment products both funds and structured products; co-portfolio manager for all Nautical funds; build and manage capital markets research.- From 2005 to January 2009, served as the Director of Commodity Investor Products at Macquarie Bank Limited in New York. Worked with the world's leading Pension Funds on enhanced index OTC derivative solutions as well as global mutual fund companies on ways to deliver commodity exposure via listed and regulated products. Internally, he helped to create Macquarie's commodity asset management products and was the designer of the Macquarie and Roger's Agriculture Index, launched in 2008. Ryan also created Macquarie's Commodity investor products OTC trading business with hedge funds, providing him with significant insight into the investment practices of Macro and commodity hedge funds. This included idea generation and research which the hedge funds frequently acted upon.
- 1998 to 2000, worked at International Finance Corporation as a marketing officer. Solely responsible for promotion of the IFC Emerging Markets Indices and the underlying database to clients and prospects around the world. Spoke at numerous investment conferences around the world on the Emerging Markets, indexing and the passive versus active debate. Increased indexed assets by over $1 billion dollars.
- 1995 – 1997 served as a Vice President at Ernst Institutional Research where he sold proprietary cash-flow model (Dual Cash Flow Model) to institutional buy and sell side clients including investment banks, asset management companies and pension funds. Funds raised through model sales supported company while investment capital was used to launch market-neutral hedge fund.
- Mr. Carrier received Bachelor degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan in 1994. He has his Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses.
